Center of Documentary Film DOCCENTER

         

Doccenter was founded by Ekovideofilm in 2008 in order to bring together documentary filmmakers, video journalists, film critics, producers, archivists, historians and all those who love real film, for the purpose of preserving, promoting and developing the art of documentary film in the modern world.
The main concept of the Center is to establish succession links between the masters of documentary filmmaking and modern filmmakers.

 
 

On December 8 – 10, 2008 in the Main Archive Office of Moscow (Profsoyuznaya Street 80, metro Kaluzhskaya), the Second Open Conference: Modern Documentary. Ethics and Mastery was held.

Sponsors: Main Archive Office of Moscow, Ekovideofilm, Moscow Documentary Club «Window to Russia. Linking Times» (State Unified Enterprise “Moscow Cinema”), Moscow Society of historian and archivists, Russian State Archive of Film and Photography, Section of Personal Archives and Documentary Collections of Moscow and Russian National Society of Historians and Archivists.

Film directors, screen writers, documentary film producers, film critics, distributors, archivists, journalists, writers, historians, and representatives of TV channels took part in the Conference.
At the conference, they discussed topics related to ethical issues and mastery in the modern documentary film industry.
The conference program included reports, speeches and discussion, showing films of the conference participants. It also held a round table on the topic «Modern Criteria of films to be selected for state archiving». The conference also carried final documents, organized visits to the Russian State Archive of Film and Photography, Central Archive of Audiovisual Documents of the Main Archive Office of Moscow.
